The new F1600 Championship Trophy.New York- NY – When the inaugural F1600 Formula F Championship Series wraps up in Watkins Glen in October, the champions name will be permanently added to the new championship trophy, the Dangerous Cargo Cup. The trophy was donated by E.J. Generotti, a long time Formula F driver, and unveiled in Orlando two weeks ago at the F1600 meeting during the Performance Racing Industry trade show.

Formula F actionSharon, CT – Just two weeks after initial registration opened for the first ever F1600 Formula F Championship Series in 2011, 31 drivers have already reserved numbers for what is appearing to be a massive inaugural season grid in 2011. A number of chassis are represented on the initial list, including Van Diemen, Swift, Piper, Mondiale, Citation, Bowman and Crossle.

Paul Rieffle watching over driver Tim DunnR-Sport is planning to run both F1600 Formula F Championship Series and F2000 Championship Series programs next year, according to Paul Rieffle, who runs the team. The Pennsylvania-based squad recently built a Swift DB-6 for Tim Dunn, powered by the Honda Fit motor.

Following VIR, the tour visits Watkins Glen International, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lime Rock Park and concludes the season with a second date at Watkins Glen in mid-October.
