Gooden passed Martin for teh lead in the closing stages of the race.Lexington, OH – On his F1600 Series debut, Wyatt Gooden won out on an epic battle for the lead in his Van Diemen/Honda with Mitch Martin to take his second win in two days, and second win in two ever F1600 races for Quantum Racing Services. Martin, in a Spectrum/Honda and Gooden traded the lead for 16 laps, separating themselves by 11 seconds from anyone else, before a full-course caution for oil on the track brought the checkered flags out at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Tim Kautz was third in his Piper/Ford.

Wyatt Gooden won in his Series debut.Lexington, OH – Aspiring racer Wyatt Gooden on his F1600 Formula F Championship Series debut at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, driving a Van Diemen/Honda prepared by veteran outfit Quantum Racing Services. Gooden started from pole and ran the fastest lap of the race, but had to fight his way back into the lead at one point from third, passing fellow aspiring drivers Sam Beasley and Mitch Martin on his way to victory.

Martin put the Spectrum out front.Lexington, OH – F1600 newcomers Wyatt Gooden and Mitch Martin both put down a laps of 1:28.223 to set the pace during practice at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in their F1600 Formula F Championship Series debuts. Gooden’s #17 Van Diemen/Honda, fielded by Quantum Racing Services, was consistently at the top of the time charts for three straight sessions and so was Martin, driving the #16 Spectrum/Honda for Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing.

Kautz is coming off his second win of the season in his Piper/Ford and leads the points.Lexington, OH – Tim Kautz and Bill Valet lead a highly competitive 29-car field to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend for rounds five and six of the 2011 F1600 Formula F Championship Series. Both are coming off strong runs at Watkins Glen, where they each took a victory, with Kautz extending his points to lead to 21 over Valet heading into Ohio.
