Series newcomer, Josh Green, to campaign the 2019 season with Team Pelfrey.

TAMPA, Fla. (February 12, 2019) - Team Pelfrey is excited to officially announce the signing of Josh Green to its F1600 Championship Series team for 2019, marking Green’s first season out of karting.

“Signing Josh to our program is the first step in solidifying Team Pelfrey’s bid for yet another championship,” said Team Pelfrey F1600’s Team Principal, Geoff Bushor. “When Josh tested with us in November, he came to speed very quickly and was one of the fastest drivers I have ever seen in his first time in a car.”

Green started indoor kart racing at Grand Prix New York in June of 2015. By the conclusion of 2016, Josh had transitioned to outdoor competition and finished second in the OVRP Club Championship. A year later he achieved multiple wins and poles throughout the season, as well as a Championship in the Northeast Super Series (NESS). 2018 marked Green’s first year of National competition, winning a multitude of National events and his first National Championship in the form of the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup in the IAME Junior Class and was invited by the WKA to participate in the IAME International Final at Le Mans, France. In addition, Green won the OVRP Club Championship and the New York State Championship in senior class.

“I’m extremely excited to get started, especially so with a team as prestigious as Team Pelfrey” stated the enthusiastic Green. “I can’t wait to get back in the car and see what I can do in a full field.”

Reestablished in 2011, Team Pelfrey has quickly become one of the most successful teams in junior open-wheel racing, with 9 championship titles, 96 wins and 207 podiums. The team has high hopes of adding to that significantly with the notable addition of Josh Green to its driver roster. The team currently operates in the F1600 Championship Series.
